Soil Viruses

Soil viruses are the smallest life forms in the soil. Modern biological techniques are using  for identification and even mauplation of  soil viruses. Viruses are obligate parasites able to multiply with in the host cell. These host cells are used to classify the viruses. The  soil virology is understudied To explore  the  role of  the viruses  in plant health and soil quality, researchers studying virus diversity and abundance in different  geographic areas  using classical methods of virus purification, electron microscopy and next generation sequencing (meta genomic studies)
